If you've ever tried to share an iPhone photo and wondered why your Windows-using friend can't open it, you've encountered the HEIC problem. Apple introduced HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) in iOS 11 because it offers better compression than JPG while maintaining quality.
The downside? It's not universally supported. Many websites, applications, and older devices can't open HEIC files. That's where HEICtoJPG comes in.

Technical Details
For the technically curious:
- We use Python with PIL (Pillow) and pillow-heif for conversion
- EXIF orientation data is preserved and applied correctly

- Maximum file size: 100MB per file
